<p>If Lady Violet Bridgerton were to throw a modern day masquerade ball in Oxfordshire, it’d be at this celeb-magnet faux Jacobean manor house. The glamorous hotel and country club (big sister to private members’ club <a href="https://maisonestelle.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Maison Estelle</a> in Mayfair) boasts the kind of guest book that Lady Whistledown would swoon at; from Kamala Harris to Kate Moss, and most recently, rumoured couple<a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/latest-news/kim-kardashian-lewis-hamilton-estelle-manor-oxfordshire-buckinghamshire-news/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton</a>.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Grade-II listed Estelle Manor boasts over 100 lavish bedrooms, a Roman-inspired spa and five restaurants, not to mention a members’ library that’s perfect for some hushed gossiping. World-renowned artwork graces the walls and should guests ever find themselves at a loose end, country pursuits include Land Drover expeditions, falconry and fly-fishing at nearby Blenheim Palace, which features as Queen Charlotte’s residence in<em> </em>the show. A-listers may be more likely to arrive by chopper than in a carriage, but otherwise it’s pure contemporary <em>Bridgerton</em> vibes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If walls could talk, Cliveden’s would probably have their own Netflix series. The stately setting of many a high society party (not to mention scandalous affair), Cliveden House has regal connections aplenty. The Grade I-listed 17th century mansion was built by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham in 1666 and had a very opulent glow-up in the late 1800s when it was bought by the very wealthy American Astor family. They installed a grand French dining room, transported from Château d&#8217;Asnières near Paris, that would do nicely for <em>Bridgerton </em>socials.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Past guests include King George V and Winston Churchill, and Meghan Markle stayed here with her bridal party the night before her wedding to Harry, so you’re in fine company if you bed down here. Don’t miss a dip in the iconic outdoor pool and round-off your trip with a lavish afternoon tea in the Great Hall. Pinkies poised.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Oxford’s grande dame has welcomed many literary talents through its elegant gothic front doors, including Oscar Wilde and Philip Larkin, so Penelope Featherington would feel right at home. And so will you; settle in under the chandeliers at The Alice for a banquet, then head to the wood-pannelled Morse Bar to wet your whistle(down). There are 151 rooms but the Royal Suite, with its eclectic designer interiors, private living room and views of the dreaming spires, will do nicely. Trot off to the subterranean spa when you’re in the mood for some ‘me time’ – we have a feeling that the Regency lot would enjoy the steamy thermal wellness experiences.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This French Renaissance Château was a stand in for Kew Palace in <em>Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story</em>, and while you can’t stay in the manor house itself, the grade-II listed <a href="https://www.fivearrowshotel.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Five Arrows </a>at the ornate gates is the next best thing. Rest weary feet on your very own curtained four-poster, enjoy a pick-me-up from the hospitality tray and head down to the double AA rosette lauded restaurant for dinner. Head chef Matthew Butcher sharpened his knives at other<em> </em>such<em> Bridgerton</em>-worthy establishments Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons (sadly <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/latest-news/le-manoir-new-chef-news-oxfordshire-buckinghamshire/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">closed for a refurb</a>) and The Bath Priory, so you’re in for a treat. You’ll receive free tickets to Waddesdon Manor during your stay, so there’s plenty of scope for a poke around the filming locations as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Built in an Italian Renaissance style, this Edwardian gem was the Clooneys pick for their UK wedding reception and we’d hedge our bets that the Ton would give it the seal of approval too. The estate was also purchased by Queen Charlotte’s barrister, John Morton, back in 1750 so that’s another high society tick. Each of the 60 bedrooms feature bespoke furnishings and sweeping views of the landscaped parkland and hills beyond; perfect scenes for a post-breakfast promenade. Speaking of dining, book a table in The Orangery for an elegant set lunch and flute of fizz, or go the whole hog with a tasting menu in the sumptuous Oak Room. Book a treatment at the Spa Illuminata and your <em>Bridgerton</em>-inspired blowout will be complete.&nbsp;</p>

<p>King Louis XVIII held court at Hartwell House from 1809 – 1814 when he was exiled from France, so this is another stay with a seal of royal approval. Those stuccoed Georgian ceilings have seen a lot of parties, so add yours to the roster; get started with a glass of locally made Dinton Folly sparkling in one of the many drawing rooms before proceeding to a candlelit private dining room for a sophisticated multi-course soirée. Request a room in the main house or Rectory for the full Georgian country house experience; think antique furnishings, window seats that look onto the picturesque grounds and fancy hospitality tea trays as standard. The 111Skin treatments at the Regency-style spa are fit for a queen too.</p>
