<p>This gastro hotspot is already renowned in Bucks and beyond for its creative cooking &#8211; all flame cooked and much of it homegrown, but not many know you can stay over. If you succumb to the mouth-watering cocktail and wine list (of course you will!), you&#8217;ll be glad it&#8217;s a short climb up the stairs to one of the four house rooms upstairs or potter across the garden to the two rooms in the out house. Expect enormous comfy beds, roll-top baths, gorgeous toiletries from L:A Bruket and a breakfast of freshly baked brioche, house-churned yoghurt and fresh local fruit.</p>

<p>The six bedrooms of this handsome old red brick country pub in the picture-perfect village of Great Missenden have a contemporary yet warm feel, with much of the furnishings bespoke and created by local craftsmen. Much of the food is locally sourced too &#8211; head chef Howard Gale is big on fresh, British produce and works his magic foraging, pickling, curing, and hot &amp; cold smoking.  </p>

<p>This little gem of a place is like a lesson in lost rural words &#8211; tabernacle, badger&#8217;s bower, hazel tree cabin&#8230; And honestly, it&#8217;s as magical as it sounds. The Kingfisher yurt with its wood burner, antique rugs and king size bed plus separate kitchen and bathroom cabin is next level yurting, though for couples looking for romance, it&#8217;s got to be the Badger&#8217;s Bower tabernacle with its ornate, stained glass window, double-ended bath and vast bed, plus fridge, cooker and radiator. This is roughing it for the stilettos set!&nbsp;Together with Hazel Tree Cabin, with its woodland hot tub and veranda overlooking a stream, all the yurts are open year round for dreamy short breaks.</p>

<p>Same town, very different offering with this four star, award-winning B&amp;B that has glowing reviews thanks to the attention to detail (homemade cake on arrival sound good?), but especially when it comes to sustainability. From the locally-sourced breakfast to the organic toiletries and eco-friendly cleaning products, this conscientiously-run B&amp;B is really something special. It has spotlessly clean and spacious rooms including options for one to four guests in a room, and all have en suites, hypoallergenic duvets and pillows, cosy bathrobes, plus there&#8217;s a ground floor bedroom that&#8217;s wheelchair accessible.  </p>

<p>This renowned gastropub is a great option for a stay-cay for its beautifully understated but chic rooms &#8211; all exposed oak beams, cosy sheepskin, roll-top baths and waterfall showers. Whether you sleep over the pub or in one of the rooms in the converted 19th Century cottage you can expect all the mod cons from Nespresso machine to luxe toiletries, White Company bedding, cosy bathrobes and of course a stonking slap-up breakfast, much of it sourced from local producers and cooked fresh to order. Dogs welcome (it&#8217;s all the name, after all) and supplied with bed, bowl and treats if required.</p>

<p>Lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in within the romantic interior of Danesfield House, whether that&#8217;s a vast soft armchair, lounger by the pool or a bench hidden amid the grounds. Each of the 55 bedrooms is different, some with four-poster beds and balconies, others dog friendly and some accessible rooms on the ground floor. I can personally recommend the cocktail list &#8211; for me it has to be the gin and champers concoction, Danesfield 75. Then you&#8217;ve got to decide between afternoon tea on the terrace &#8211; live out your Gatsby dreams! &#8211; or dinner in the jaw dropping Orangery restaurant. Snag a table by the windows for sweeping views. </p>

Bag a night at Orchard View now &#8211; come the end of October the yurts are closed up for the winter and you don&#8217;t want to miss this magical experience of a night sleeping in the surrounds of a small working farm in the Chilterns. Fear not, it&#8217;s not all about soup on the campfire &#8211; there&#8217;s a café, excellentfarm shop and bar on site so less soup, more Sancerre, sweetie. &nbsp;As for where you&#8217;ll rest your head, the bell tents can sleep up to five between a double bed and airbeds, meanwhile the glamping pods, new for this year, are doubles with sockets and table and chairs.</p>
