Buying jeans can feel like a unique form of torture. For me, it’s up there with swimwear shopping and a visit to the dentist. But I love them, I live in them, but finding a pair that suck me in, lift my droopy bottom, keep the muffin tops tucked in and make my legs look like Kate Moss’s, well that’s a challenge – but one I’m happy to accept. Plus this week is Jeans for Genes week – raising money for raise for children affected by genetic disorders.
Made in the Welsh town of Cardigan, Hiut is a real British fashion success story making world class jeans (Meghan Markle’s a fan) and supporting local communities. Plus you don’t have to wash them for six months and you get free repairs for life.

Whistles barrel leg jeans are an absolute Muddy favourite. They flash a bit of ankle and don’t cling to any lumps and bumps. It was love at first sight. Off white denim is a hot hue for autumn, but probably only works for those who don’t slosh coffee down themselves. Not me then.
Now £76, was £95
