Who runs the world? Beyoncé… possibly from a country estate near Chipping Norton. Rumour has it Mrs Carter has been spotted house-hunting in the village of Wigginton. Yes, actual Beyoncé. In the actual Cotswolds. While her reps are staying silent (classic), local buzz says Queen Bey and fam might be eyeing up a country pile in the sleepy-chic corner of Oxfordshire.



In the past week, Beyoncé and Jay-Z flew via helicopter between her London gigs to view a 58-acre plot of land. If the rumours do turn out to be true (praying hands emoji), we totally get it. Between the A-list neighbours (hello, the Beckhams), discreet five-star spas, and restaurants where you can order truffle fries and avoid paparazzi, this is rural living at its glossiest.



So, whether she&#8217;s after a manor with moody interiors and a recording studio in grounds, or just a quiet spot for Blue Ivy to ride ponies and eat sourdough, we’ve rounded up the spots she might call home &#8211; and the places we’d fully expect to see her sipping a biodynamic rosé come the weekend. Beyoncé in the Cotswolds? We’re manifesting.

While no further titbits have been released about the potential pad Bey and her hubby Jay-Z may have perused, there are several other suitable properties that could also tickle the A-list couple’s fancy.

If Beyoncé really is planning a move to the Cotswolds, we may have found her match: the ultra-private, mega-luxe Salford Manor. With over 230 acres of rolling parkland, sweeping drives, and a helipad (obviously), this Oxfordshire estate is the kind of discreet, high-spec haven that ticks every A-list box. There’s a show-stopping country house with seven bedrooms, an opulent spiral staircase, a lavender garden for Blue Ivy’s ballet recitals, and a separate 4-bed staff house for the entourage. Just minutes from Chipping Norton’s chic boutiques and Daylesford’s finest farm shop fare, it’s also neighbourly to other celeb Cotswoldians (more on them later). And with a private drive long enough for a Formation reunion and parkland perfect for a low-key garden soirée &#8211; or a very fancy lemonade stand &#8211; Queen B might just have found her throne.

If Bey fancies going country (like her music), then Soulcombe might just be the estate worthy of her royal presence. Think: sweeping views over the Cherwell Valley, a neo-classical mansion with a wine cellar, private pool, gym, and enough bedrooms to host Destiny’s Child and then some. With its own tennis court, pavilions, and five &#8211; yes, five &#8211; additional homes scattered across 338 pristine acres, this estate screams secluded glamour. Add in top-tier equestrian facilities (a stud farm fit for a queen’s stallions) and proximity to both Blenheim Palace and the boutique buzz of Oxford, and you’ve got the dream country bolthole for B and Jay. If trading world tours for village fêtes appeals, Home Farmhouse might just be the perfect low-key luxe pad for the Carter family. Tucked into a charming Cotswolds village and wrapped in original shutters, open fireplaces, and sash windows, this beautifully restored Cotswold stone house offers more “elevated country life” than full-blown manor drama. The kitchen is made for casual croissants with Jay, while the stepped garden (complete with fruit trees, herbaceous borders and a pony-perfect paddock) is prime for a Grammy-worthy garden party. There’s even a chic top-floor studio-slash-gym for tour rehearsals, should the inspiration strike.

If Beyoncé does decide to swap LA for leafy Oxfordshire, she’ll be in very starry company indeed. Just down the road in Kingham, Blur bassist and cheese aficionado Alex James hosts his annual foodie-music bash. And you can’t swing a sourdough loaf without hitting an A-lister in and around Chipping Norton these days. With Jeremy Clarkson and his right-hand man Kaleb causing chaos on Diddly Squat Farm and Joe Wicks popping up at the local coffee spots, Queen B would be in excellent celebrity company.



And of course the Carters could also find themselves swinging over to the Beckhams, the Cotswolds most famous celebrity cohorts, who have long been residents in the sought-after village of Great Tew. Perhaps Becks could give Bey some honey-making tips?

If the family are keen for some across the pond company they could borrow a cup of sugar from recent additions to the countryside set, Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi who have quietly planted roots here too. They aren’t the only Americans taking up residence in this stretch of the British countryside either. Brad Pitt also reportedly owns a home in the area and Tom Cruise and Ariana Grande have also both spent time staying here.



Meanwhile, DJ Calvin Harris and his wife, TV presenter, Vick Hope, are the latest stars to have moved to the North Cotswolds and Liam Gallagher has apparently also joined the local set, reportedly using money from this summer’s can&#8217;t-get-a-ticket Oasis tour to buy a new house here.

No A-list hangout round-up would be complete without a nod to the crown jewel of countryside cool: Soho Farmhouse – and just 10mins from Wigginton. If Beyoncé really wants to lean into Cotswolds chic, she’ll be sipping negronis by the log fire and hopping between the hot tub and the Cowshed spa in no time. With its artfully weathered barns, private cabins, and an off-duty celeb around every corner (hello Harry Styles, Adele, Idris…), it’s practically built for a little low-key luxe downtime. Estelle Manor is also a chic downtime destination, and the 3,000 sqm Eynsham Baths with its five pools, padel courts and Clubhouse, is worth doubling the distance for.



Should she find herself craving a chic lunch or a discreet martini, Beyoncé could slip into <a href="https://thewildrabbit.co.uk/">The Wild Rabbit</a> for rustic-luxe vibes and low-lit glamour or grab a farm-fresh bite at <a href="https://quinceandclover.co.uk/">Quince &amp; Clover</a> – both certified celeb stomping grounds. Meanwhile Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, were recently spotted letting loose at <a href="https://thefarmersdogpub.com/">The Farmer’s Dog</a> (owned by local Jeremy Clarkson) with Natalie Imbruglia and James Blunt. No less.

Naturally Bey will need a go-to for truffle brie and biodynamic beetroot. Enter <a href="https://www.daylesford.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Daylesford Organic</a> &#8211; Lady Bamford’s ultra-luxe farm shop, known locally as the Harrods Food Hall of the Cotswolds. And should she fancy a bit of local colour (or chaos), there’s always <a href="https://diddlysquatfarmshop.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diddly Squat Farmshop</a>, Jeremy Clarkson’s high-octane outpost of eggs, merch and mayhem.



And let’s not forget retail therapy. When she’s not sipping something organic or eyeing up pony paddocks, Bey could easily be found power-shopping her way through Bicester Village – past haunts of Rita Ora, Will Young, and even the Princess of Wales herself. Discount Dior, darling.

If Beyoncé does make the Cotswolds her new home, the Carter kids are in for a countryside glow-up like no other. Forget VIP clubs – this summer is all about fresh air and festivals. First stop? Cotswolds party people are no slouches on the festival front either. Two of the most lively (and family friendly) are <a href="https://www.wildernessfestival.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wilderness</a> on the Cornbury Park estate and <a href="https://thebigfeastival.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Big Feastival</a> on Blur bassist Alex James’s farm near Kingham. He’s said it’s a family friendly affair… until Kate Moss turns up to get the party started.



Doing it for the kids? There&#8217;s plenty to do when they&#8217;re not hangout out backstage and jet-setting round the world. For some wholesome oohs and ahhs, the <a href="https://www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cotswold Wildlife Park</a> near Burford allows you to walk on the wild side with rhinos, see penguins and lemurs being fed and go eye-to-eye with a giraffe on the amazing Giraffe Walkway.



When it’s time for a big day out, it’s off to the <a href="https://www.cotswoldcountryparkandbeach.com/family-beach-park/south-lake-family-beach/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Cotswold Water Park &amp; Beach</a> &#8211; yes, a legit beach in the heart of Oxfordshire. This is the UK’s largest inland paddling beach, complete with golden sand imported straight from Padstow, BBQs on the shore, and electric boats and pedalos to cruise across the lakes. The AquaVenture obstacle course, with its 40 giant inflatables, is basically an American Ninja Warrior episode waiting to happen.



For heritage hotness and British aristocracy history lesson, Queen Bey will feel right at home at <a href="https://www.blenheimpalace.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Blenheim Palace</a> – screen location for Queen Charlotte, Spectre and Harry Potter, hosted fashion exhibitions and catwalk shows and is home to 12,000 acres of stonking grounds, plus Christmas light show and a horse show. The magnificent <a href="https://www.broughtoncastle.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Broughton Castle</a> should also be on her must-visit list, a filming location for Wolf Hall, Shakespeare in Love and Jane Eyre. Kids are welcome to roam around the medieval manor house and the maze-like planting in the landscaped gardens. William Morris called it ‘heaven on earth’.



If Queen Bey does trade Coachella for cow parsley, one thing’s for sure – the Cotswolds will never be the same again. And frankly, we’re ready for it!
