We all know the fabulous Feast Events for its <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/whats-on-near-me/feast-over-flame-marlow-river-lunch-dinner/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Marlow meadow alfresco dining</a> and <a href="https://bucksoxon.muddystilettos.co.uk/things-to-do/day-trips/henley-regatta-hospitality-feast-over-flame/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Henley Regatta high jinks</a>, and we all know the celeb-tastic golf, spa and luxe retreat, <a href="https://www.thegrove.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Grove</a>, just north of Watford, but did you know that they&#8217;re coming together this summer?



Talk about a collab. Bring together the imagination, flawless flame-grilled cooking and ability-to-pull-off-the impossible Feast, with the slick and elegant surroundings of The Grove, and this is shaping up to be the summer&#8217;s hottest ticket (now that Elton at Glasto is sold out).

Running 9 June – 3 September 2023 the immersive dining experience, Feast on Cloud 9, is being offered across various sittings with adult and family-friendly timings and a host of exciting little additions for those already au fait with the whole Feast fandango. Here&#8217;s what to expect: 



The hot air balloons are back, with tables for four or six people set in vintage-style wicker dining baskets, the jaunty red and white balloons aloft each basket. They&#8217;ll be set around The Grove&#8217;s Formal Garden, the elegantly landscaped space just beyond The Glasshouse terrace, with its iconic ornamental canal and artwork-lined paths.

This time, alongside the nine-course tasting menu offered at lunchtime on Sundays throughout June and on summer evenings at 7.30pm, there will also be an afternoon tea option, available 2-5pm on Saturdays.



As always, the food is a highlight. The whopping tasting menu opens with nibbles and welcome bubbles before sitting down to a course of Cornish crab and Exmoor caviar tart, cucumber and crème fraiche (avocado and cucumber tart, citrus caviar, crème fraiche for veggies or sans the crème fraiche for vegans). Then there&#8217;s the essence of tomato, heritage tomato salad, black garlic, and Feast&#8217;s trademark &#8216;edible cloud&#8217;, which has to be eaten to be believed. Other courses include lobster en croute, fennel and cucumber ceviche, lobster bisque, with the en croute carved at the table, then a strawberry pavlova cloud among the many dessert courses, with veggie and vegan options throughout.

The kids&#8217; menu is equally adventurous with their own little lobster en croute (fear not &#8211; there&#8217;s crudities to start and roast breast of free range chicken, creamed mashed potato, baby carrots and summer greens to follow for the less daring eaters). And of course puds feature strongly with strawberry pavlova cloud and edible chocolate plant pot, edible stones and soil, because you are in a garden afterall.



Tempted by the afternoon tea option? Then pinkies aloft for the selection of finger sandwiches (coronation chicken, smoked salmon, egg mayo and ham and mustard &#8211; all the classics, but done with flair and not a curled corner in sight). Couple this with pork and apple sausage roll, smoked salmon Scotch egg, and Montgomery cheddar and onion tart, and you can see this is a fairly substantial offering, followed, by the customary warm scones served with clotted cream and homemade preserve, a selection of cakes and, naturally, some edible clouds.
